Helsinki: A severe snowstorm that hit northern Europe this weekend killed at least four people. Many houses and cars were damaged by the storm, some bridges were closed and the power supply to thousands of homes was also disrupted.
The snowstorm has been named Malik and on Sunday it moved towards the Nordic region. This resulted in heavy rain and snowfall accompanied by strong winds in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Hurricane Malik reached the Nordic region and northern Germany late Saturday night after coming from Britain, where it caused extensive damage to property and means of transport. Scotland has been badly affected due to this snowstorm.
A nine-year-old child and a 60-year-old woman died in Staffordshire, north of Staffordshire, after a tree fell due to a storm in Britain. In Scotland, strong winds disrupted traffic and disrupted electricity supply to thousands of homes. The storm caused heavy rain in Denmark and forced the temporary closure of several bridges on Saturday.
Due to the strong wind here, a 78-year-old woman fell injured and died. One person died after a billboard collapsed due to a storm in Germany.
