Retail inflation rises in June for agriculture

New Delhi: Retail inflation for agriculture and rural workers rose to 6.43 percent and 6.76 percent, respectively, in June on higher prices of certain food items. In June last year, retail inflation was 3.83 percent for agricultural workers and 4 percent for rural workers.

The All India Consumer Price Index (CPI-AL) for agricultural laborers stood at 1,125 in June. While the Consumer Price Index (CPI-RL) for rural workers stood at 1,137 points. On an annual basis, both are marginally higher. At the same time, in May, CPI-AL was at 1,119 points while CPI-RL was at 1,131 points.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Labor Ministry said, “Inflation based on the Consumer Price Index for agricultural and rural workers stood at 6.43 percent and 6.76 percent, respectively, in June 2022. In May it was 6.67 and 7 percent respectively.
