Mumbai: Rajkumar Hirani, one of the most acclaimed directors of Hindi cinema, is making waves with his latest film Dunki, starring Shahrukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and others. The film, which is a comedy-drama about a quirky family, has already crossed Rs 200 crore at the box office and is receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.

However, Hirani’s fans are also curious about his other project, the much-awaited third installment of the Munna Bhai franchise, featuring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi as the lovable goons Munna and Circuit. The first two films, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), were huge hits and are considered cult classics in Indian cinema. They also introduced the concepts of ‘jadoo ki jhappi’ (magical hug) and ‘Gandhigiri’ (following Gandhi’s principles) to the masses.

In a recent interview with ANI, Hirani opened up about the status of Munna Bhai 3 and why it has been delayed for so long. He said that he has been struggling to find a script that can match the level of the previous two films. He revealed that he has five half-written scripts for Munna Bhai 3, but none of them have satisfied him yet. He said that he has a story in mind, but he is not sure if it will work or not. He added that some stories get old with time and he will have to see what he can do with it next.

Hirani also said that he is in touch with Sanjay Dutt, who is keen to reprise his role as Munna Bhai. He said that Dutt often tells him that they should make Munna Bhai 3 soon. He said that he also wants to make another Munna Bhai film, but he does not know when it will happen.
