New Delhi: President Ramnath Kovind is addressing the nation on the eve of the 72nd Republic Day. In his address to the nation, President Kovind said, ‘Our national festivals, all citizens, celebrate with a feeling of national love. Even celebrating the national festival of Republic Day with full enthusiasm, expressing respect and faith in our national flag and the constitution.
Kovind said, by working day and night by de-coding the corona-virus and developing the vaccine in a very short time, our scientists have created a new history for the welfare of the entire humanity. All our farmers, jawans and scientists deserve special greetings and a grateful nation greets them all on the auspicious occasion of Republic Day. The President said that 2020 has been a year of learning, which teaches us how to overcome difficulties. Our national festivals, all countrymen celebrate with a feeling of national love. National festival of Republic Day also, we celebrate with full enthusiasm, expressing respect and faith in our national flag and constitution.
Siachen and Galvan Valley Referred
In his address to the nation, President Kovind also mentioned Siachen and Galvan Valley. He said, in minus 50 to 60 degree temperature, everything from freezing winter, in Jaisalmer, to above 50 degree centigrade, scorching heat – on earth, sky and vast coastal areas – our fighter India Let’s play the responsibility of protecting every moment. We all are proud of the bravery, patriotism and sacrifice of our soldiers.
Made your own vaccine in India
President Ramnath Kovind said, Self-reliant India has also made its own vaccine to protect against corona-virus. Now on a large scale, the vaccination campaign going on will be the biggest project of its kind in history. I urge the countrymen that all of you, as per the guidelines, must take advantage of this vaccine-like Sanjeevani in the interest of your health and get it done. Your health opens the way to your progress.
Continuing on the path of Bhimrao
Kovind said, we all have to continue on the path of ‘Constitutional Ethics’ which Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar mentioned in his Constituent Assembly speech on November 4, 1948. He made it clear that ‘constitutional ethics’ means – to consider the values enshrined in the Constitution as paramount. Equality is the seed-mantra of the great sacrifice of our Republic. The ideal of social equality ensures the dignity of every person, including our villagers, women, people from relatively weaker sections including Scheduled Castes and Tribes, all people with disabilities and elderly people.
Bal Gangadhar ‘Tilak’, Lala Lajpat Rai, Mahatma Gandhi also mentioned
In his address to the nation on the eve of Republic Day, President Kovind also mentioned Bal Gangadhar ‘Tilak’, Lala Lajpat Rai, Mahatma Gandhi. He said the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity underlined in the Preamble of the Constitution are sacred ideals for us all. It is expected that not only the people who are responsible for governance but also all of us ordinary citizens should follow these ideals firmly and sincerely.
Their visions of the golden future of the motherland were different, but the values of justice, freedom, equity, and fraternity served to unify their dreams. Many great public heroes and thinkers like Bal Gangadhar ‘Tilak’, Lala Lajpat Rai, Mahatma Gandhi, and Subhash Chandra Bose inspired our freedom struggle. Justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity are the eternal principles of our philosophy of life. Their continuous flow, since the beginning of our civilization, has been enriching the lives of all of us. It is the responsibility of every new generation to establish the significance of these values, in line with the times.
