Haridwar: The decision to prematurely conclude the ongoing Kumbh Mela at Haridwar was taken amidst the growing threat of Corona and a nationwide appeal. Awadheshanand, the head of the largest Juna Akhara, announced the conclusion of the Kumbh. A meeting of the Akharas was organized for the conclusion of Kumbh, after which Swami Awadheshanand said that the people of India and their survival is our first priority. Therefore, we have duly immersed all the deities drawn from Kumbh. This is the formal immersion of the Kumbh on behalf of the Juna Akhara. Earlier, Anand Akhada and Niranjani Akhada also announced the end of Kumbh.

In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to the Arena that the Kumbh should be abolished in view of the increasing transition of Corona. At the same time, he also appealed to the common people to keep the Kumbh symbolic. After PM Modi’s appeal, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Awadheshanand had said that the Kumbh is not yet over. He said that the elders and children should not come to the royal bath. But the saint society is with the Bairagis, they should be bathed. Later he told that after talking to the PM and the Home Minister, his akhara has decided to conclude the Kumbh.

By the way, Kumbh cannot be considered finished at the moment. Because there is no response from the rest of the arena now. However, after the announcement of Juna Arena, now the rest of the arena can also go with the same decision. On the other hand, it is quite likely that after the announcement of Mahamandaleshwar Awadheshanand Giri’s closing announcement, the government should also issue an official statement regarding the abolition of Kumbh.
