Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will be held on time only, its indication has been given by Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra, who visited UP. The Commission said that for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections (2022 UP Assembly elections), all the parties have demanded to hold elections on time. After reviewing the preparations for the UP elections, Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said in a press conference that representatives of all political parties met us and told us that following all the Corona protocols, the assembly was on time. Elections should be held.

After reviewing for three days, holding a press conference, the Election Commission said that the final voter list will come on January 5. The number of new voters and women voters has increased by 52 percent in Uttar Pradesh. All political parties are in favor of timely elections. Let us tell you that the assembly elections are to be held between February-March next year.

Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra was accompanied by a team of 13 officers of the Election Commission including Anoop Chandra Pandey, Umesh Sinha, Rajiv Kumar, and other officers of the Commission. The Election Commission has held several meetings in the last two days. Let us tell you that the term of the government is ending on 14 May 2022. The number of assembly seats in UP is 403. The Election Commission gave the details of the UP tour in the press conference and said that on the first day all the political parties of UP were met and the commission took cognizance of the points made by the political parties. The commission met the district magistrates, commissioners, top police officers of all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh and informed all those officers about the law and order of their districts.

The Election Commission said that voter registration in UP is going on till January 5. The final electoral roll will be published on January 5. This time the number of voters in Uttar Pradesh is more than 15 crores. The commission said that people can enroll their names even after the electoral rolls are published. This time 52.8 lakh new voters have been added. It said that voters who are turning 18 on January 2022 must register themselves.
