Kannauj: DGGI has found huge cash and gold during raids on Piyush Jain’s premises in Kannauj. When the factory was raided, an underground tank was found there. 17 crore cash and 23 kg gold have been found in this sealed tank. There is an international mark on gold. During the raid, there was chaos in the entire area. The police were also heavily guarded. After this action, Piyush Jain was arrested. After the medical examination, Piyush was produced in the court from where he has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

This action came into the limelight after the income tax raids on all the residences and godowns of perfume trader Piyush Jain. The officers lost their sleep after getting several kilos of gold and silver along with crores of cash. Due to this the political mercury of UP also went up.

Unaccounted wealth found
Unaccounted cash worth more than Rs 187 crore was recovered in the action taken by the IT and GST department. He was also arrested under section 67 of the CGST Act after unaccounted raw and finished goods were recovered.

On the arrest, the DGGI has said that Piyush Jain has admitted that the cash recovered from the residential premises is related to the sale of goods without payment of GST. Large-scale GST evasion is indicated by Odochem Industries, Kannauj. The evidence available on record has been collected.

Piyush has made the head office of his companies in Mumbai and from here the perfume of his company is exported abroad. According to the information, Piyush also has a luxurious home in Mumbai.

Notes were filled in the bed
The Income Tax Department and DGGI team raided Jain’s house and this action lasted for about 36 hours. During this, the officials got about Rs 180 crore in cash. The situation was such that along with the walls, shelves, bundles of notes were also filled in the beds. The officials also had to work very hard to carry this much money and for this 80 boxes were ordered. During the raid, the police force was deployed both inside and outside the house.
