New Delhi: Today the Meteorological Department has issued a Red Alert regarding heavy rains in 3 districts of Tamil Nadu today. These three districts are Chengalpattu, Villupuram, and Kanchipuram. Significantly, due to Cyclone Mandous in South India, there is a possibility of heavy rains and strong thunderstorms. Due to this cyclone, the wind speed has increased from 85-90 kmph to 105 kmph since last Thursday night.

Due to this, a warning of heavy rains in other nearby states including Tamil Nadu has also been issued by IMD. At the same time, holidays have also been declared for schools and colleges in about 17 districts of the state. At the same time, due to this cyclone in some states, a slight rise in day and night temperatures can also be seen. Along with this, this time the effect of cyclones can also be seen in the areas of North India. At the same time, a big estimate of light rain and cloudy weather is also being made in some places.

Cyclone-Mandous

A red alert has been issued in 3 districts of Tamil Nadu state, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, and Villupuram due to Cyclone Mandus. Earlier on Thursday, Orange Alert was issued for Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, and Pudukottai districts. According to IMD, there will be heavy rains in the state today i.e. on 9 and 10 December. The deep pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal is very likely to gradually intensify into a cyclonic storm and move up to the Southwest Bay of Bengal off the North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh coasts.
