Bhopal: In view of Coronavirus infection, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has decided not to organize traditional public events on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15 this year. Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, it was also decided that only one state-level event will be organized on Independence Day this year in the state capital Bhopal. Mishra said that till now in the Independence Day program on August 15, the elected representatives at the district and tehsil level were used in the presence. In view of Coronavirus infection, it has been decided not to organize such programs this year.

He said, “As we all know Covid-19 infection is spreading. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided that the main program of Independence Day will be held at one place in Bhopal. ” Mishra said that the Chief Minister and his Council of Council colleagues will attend this main function in Bhopal. Mishra said, “Public programs will not be held this year as before, in which children and teachers were involved. Parade and other administrative functions will also not be held this year. ” He informed that officers at the district and tehsil level will do Independence Day programs but no public programs will be held in it.
