No need for night curfew and lockdown in Maharashtra, must wear masks for next 6 months: CM Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that no night curfew or lockdown would be imposed in the state. Thackeray said that many people have recommended night curfew or lockdown to reduce the spread of Coronavirus but, I think there is no need to impose night curfew or lockdown.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that wearing a mask is mandatory in the state for the next six months. Addressing the people of the state through social media, Thackeray said that experts are once again in favor of imposing a curfew or second lockdown at night but they are not in support of such a step. Thackeray said that the coronavirus infection in the state has not been completely controlled, yet the situation is under control.

More than 18 lakh 92 thousand cases so far in Maharashtra
Significantly, the total number of cases reported so far in the state has increased to 18,92,707, with 3,940 more people confirmed to be infected with Corona virus on Saturday in Maharashtra. At the same time, with the death of 74 more people in the last 24 hours, the number of people who lost their lives in the epidemic from the state has increased to 48,648.

In Maharashtra, 3,119 people were discharged from hospitals on Saturday after becoming free of infection. In Maharashtra, 17,81,841 patients have been exempted from infection while 61,095 are undergoing treatment. After 632 new cases of infection were reported in Mumbai, the number of infected people in the city rose to 2,86,264 while the death toll rose to 10,980 after the death of nine more people.

So far 1,20,59,235 samples have been tested in the state.
