Municipal corporation officials said that a five-year-old girl died after a wall collapsed due to rain in Mangalhat area of ​​Hyderabad today. The Meteorological Department has forecast more rains in areas of Telangana till 21 October. More than 50 people died in separate incidents in the state last week due to heavy rains. The state government has expressed an initial assessment of the loss of about Rs 5000 crore due to the heavy rains on Tuesday last week. The state had not received so much rainfall since 1916.

However, since Saturday night, torrential rains started again in some areas of Hyderabad and neighboring districts and Saroornagar in neighboring Rangareddy district received the highest 16.9 cm rainfall. Expressing his solidarity with the flood-hit people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the state of full assistance from the Center.
