Mumbai: During both the waves of Corona, Mumbai, one of the most affected places in the country, has achieved a big target in the war against Covid. Nearly ten months after the nationwide COVID vaccination program was launched, Mumbai on Saturday achieved 100% first dose coverage. According to the CoWin dashboard, the city’s target adult population is 9,236,546, and as of noon on Saturday, 9,239,902 first doses have been administered in the city. With a figure of 5,983,452 currently, Mumbai’s second dose coverage is around 65% of the city’s adult population.

Experts agree that decentralizing immunization centers has played an important role in vaccine coverage in Mumbai. Certainly, now there is a lot more protection from Corona in the city, but still, precaution is necessary.

Let us inform you that on January 16, Mumbai started the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination for health workers with just 10 vaccination centers along with the rest of the country. The city gradually increased the number of vaccination centers, battling several instances of supply shortages. Now its achievement of 100% first dose coverage has been achieved by a total of 462 public and private immunization centers, which have a combined capacity to deliver over 123,000 vaccine doses a day.
