Metro service disrupted in Delhi after drone carrying medical supplies falls on track

New Delhi: Metro service came to a standstill in the national capital Delhi after a drone carrying medical supplies fell on the metro track. Metro service was disrupted for about an hour between Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh and Botanical Garden Metro stations on the Magenta Line. This information has been given by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The corporation tweeted at 2.50 am, informing commuters, Magenta Line update services are not available from Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh to Botanical Garden due to security reasons. Services on other lines are normal.

At the same time, Delhi Police said that, about an hour ago, a drone carrying medical supplies had fallen on the metro track near Jasola Vihar in Delhi. Due to this, the metro service from Jasola Vihar, Shaheen Bagh to Botanical Garden was disrupted but now the metro service has started again.

In this matter, Metro DCP Jitendra Mani said, information was received at 2:30 pm after which a medicine packet was found in the investigation. The medicine belongs to a Noida-based company that supplies medicine to different hospitals, and labs, however, it was found on the metro track so every aspect is being probed, and legal angle is also being looked into.

We are checking their documents to see if they have permission from the DGCA or not, Mani said. We are probing it and necessary action will be taken on the basis of the probe.
