Maharashtra: 50 prisoners in Akola jail infected with Coronavirus

Akola: 50 inmates of Akola District Jail in Maharashtra and 28 others have been confirmed to have been infected with the coronavirus. The jail official said that there are around 300 prisoners in the district jail and no new prisoners have been brought here recently. An official of the Government Medical College and Hospital said that the report of 78 people came positive on Sunday morning, of which 50 are male prisoners. He said that coronavirus cases have increased to 1,498 in the district. Earlier on June 24, 18 prisoners were found infected in the district jail.

Please tell that 76 people have lost their lives in the district after getting infected by the virus. The official said that 378 people are still under treatment in the district and more than 1,000 people have been cured.
