Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) in Shimla on Wednesday night after he complained of severe stomach pain. He was admitted to the hospital around 2 am and underwent several tests to diagnose his condition.
According to IGMC sources, the Chief Minister was suffering from a stomach infection and had swelling in his abdomen. His ultrasound report was normal and his health condition was stable. He was kept under observation and given medication to treat the infection.
IGMC’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Rahul Rao confirmed the CM’s admission and said that he was out of danger and there was nothing to worry about. He said that all his medical examinations were done and the reports were normal. He said that the CM would be discharged soon after further investigation.
This is not the first time that the Chief Minister has faced health issues. Five months ago, he visited Fortis Hospital in Mohali for a checkup after he experienced leg pain. He had undergone an MRI scan and was advised physiotherapy by the doctors. He was also asked to come again after six months for a follow-up.
The Chief Minister’s health scare has raised concerns among his supporters and party workers, who wished him a speedy recovery. The CM’s office said that he was in touch with his cabinet colleagues and officials and was monitoring the state’s affairs from the hospital.
