Heavy fire at Srisailam power station, 9 people feared trapped

Hyderabad: A fierce fire broke out at the underground hydropower station on the banks of the Srisailam Dam in Telangana early Friday. So far 10 people have been evacuated from the station, out of which 6 people have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. According to the news so far, 9 more people are still trapped inside the station. Fire tenders have reached the spot and the work of extinguishing the fire is going on.

According to the information, a sudden fire broke out in the left bank power station of Telangana on Friday morning. The fire spread so fast that the entire building went up in smoke. On receiving the news of the fire, the staff inside the station tried to get out. The fire department employees who reached the spot somehow pulled out 10 people. It is said that 6 of these people were immediately admitted to the nearby hospital for treatment.

According to the news agency ANI, fire engines have been sent to the spot from Atmakur Fire Station in Kurnool. Nine people are still feared trapped in the fire at the power station. The fire department is in a trance to control the fire.
