Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 1,500 to farmers in the state for purchasing smartphones. This information has been given in the notification issued by the State Agriculture Department.

The notification said that the objective of this scheme is to motivate farmers to buy smartphones so that they can use them to increase agricultural income at a time when digital service is increasing in the agriculture sector.

A Government Resolution (GR) issued by the State Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department on Saturday said that any farmer owning land in Gujarat can provide assistance of 10 percent (not more than 1,500) of the total cost of the smartphone. You can apply on the ‘Khedoot’ website.

The notification said that this support is available only for smartphones and is not available for connected devices such as power backup devices, earphones or chargers, etc.
