Uttarkashi: According to the big news received from Uttarakhand, more than 350 goats died in the Khattu Khal forest due to lightning last Saturday night in Uttarkashi. At the same time, this incident took place near Dunda block, when Sanjeev Rawat of Barsu village of Bhatwari block was taking sheep and goats from Rishikesh to Uttarkashi with his friends amid heavy rain and thunderstorm. Meanwhile, about 350 animals have died due to lightning on a pine tree.

According to the news received, Sanjeev Rawat, a resident of Barsu village of Bhatwadi block, was bringing his sheep and goats from Rishikesh toward Uttarkashi. That’s why in the late evening, in the midst of heavy rain, about 350 of his goats got burnt to death due to lightning in the middle (forest) of Khattu Khal village. About 300 goats and 55 small goat kids are involved, who have been completely scorched by electricity and have died. People are in a panic after lightning strikes.

Later, the villagers informed about this Bhatwadi block chief Vinita Rawat. Block chief Vinita Rawat also informed the District Magistrate and District Disaster Management Department about the incident on the spot. On the other hand, today i.e. on Sunday morning, the revenue team along with the team of veterinarians will go to the spot. Information has been received that about 350 goats died due to lightning.
