Mumbai: It is the last day of Ganeshotsav being celebrated with enthusiasm in Mumbai for the last 10 days. Today Bappa will be given a last farewell. BMC has also geared up for immersion in natural sites and artificial ponds. Regarding the immersion, BMC Additional Commissioner Ashwini Bhide said that BMC, in collaboration with the police administration, has made elaborate arrangements for the immersion.

Ashwini Bhide told that due to Kovid, Ganeshotsav was restricted for the last 2 years. This year Ganeshotsav is being celebrated with full enthusiasm. Like before Kovid, BMC has made vigorous preparations for the immersion of Ganpati idols.

188 control rooms were set up in 24 departments
Ashwini Bhide said that 188 control rooms have been set up in 24 departments of BMC. For immersion, BMC has created 73 natural immersion sites and 162 artificial ponds this year. 8999228999 facility of WhatsApp chatbot has been made available to the people so that people can easily get information about the immersion place near them.

Motorboat facility
BMC has deployed 786 lifeguards at various places for immersion. 45 motorboats and 39 German TAFAs have been arranged at natural immersion sites. Due to rain or high tide, BMC has urged people to give the idols to the collection center so that they can be immersed.

Such is the preparation
The BMC has set up 211 reception halls in major squares to coordinate. 3069 flood lights and 71 searchlights have been installed to maintain the light on the seashore.

First aid system
The BMC has set up 188 first aid centers at the immersion sites, while 83 ambulances have also been deployed. 357 Nirmalya Kalash and 287 Vehicles have been installed for the Haar Phool to be collected at the time of immersion. Arrangements have been made for 134 mobile toilets at the immersion site.

Appeal not to crowd on dilapidated bridges
BMC has appealed not to crowd the 13 dilapidated bridges of Mumbai. Efforts will be made to control the traffic on these bridges in collaboration with Mumbai Police, and Mumbai Traffic Police. Vehicles going with immersion can be parked where there is a parking facility, but where there is no parking, a one-way route has been made. Vehicles will enter from one side and leave the other side.

Review of all aspects
The BMC and the police administration have completed their preparations on all major immersion sites in North Mumbai as well as artificial ponds. All aspects were reviewed in a joint meeting of police and municipal corporation. Thousands of Ganpati from big and small mandals from Goregaon to Dahisar on Madh, Marve in Malad West, and Gorai sea beach of Borivali West come here, hence the BMC has a special focus here. Steel plates have been installed on the ghats along with lighting and sound system at the immersion sites to facilitate the vehicles to reach the immersion site.

The last immersion of the king of Lalbagh
Lastly, the king of Lalbagh is immersed. In the midst of a huge crowd, it takes hours to cover the distance from Lalbagh to Girgaum Chowpatty, so it takes 5 in the morning to do the immersion.
