New Delhi: The Fourth Wave of Corona Pandemic has knocked in the capital Delhi. Yes, in the last 24 hours, 1009 new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in the state. Which is 60 percent more than the day before (Tuesday). One death has been recorded in the state. This information was given by the Health Department of Delhi on Wednesday.

According to the Health Department, after the arrival of new cases in Delhi, the total number of infected people has increased to 18,70,692. Whereas, the death toll has reached 26,161. At the same time, today 314 people have recovered from Corona in the state. With this, the number of people who have been cured has gone up to 18,41,890. At present, there are a total of 2,641 active patients in the capital.

Omicron among 97% of the dead
According to government data, the Omicron variant has been found in the samples of 97 percent of the dead in Delhi between January and March. Samples of 578 dead were sent for genome sequencing, of which 560 confirmed Omicron variants. It may be noted that during the third wave, many experts had claimed that there was no threat from Omicron, but the reality is different.

Positivity rate recorded at 5.70%
Significantly, for the last few days, cases of corona are increasing in Delhi and neighboring states. The positivity rate in Delhi has come down from 8% to 5.70% in two days. Thousands of patients have been found in the capital for the first time since February 10. The special thing is that the testing of the corona has not been increased in Delhi. If corona testing increases here, then the figure may increase further. Corona testing of 17,701 people was done in the city today. Out of which 9,581 RT-PCR test is included.

Mask mandatory
In view of the increasing cases of corona in Delhi, restrictions have been started once again. On Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal held a meeting of DDMA. Which wearing of masks has been made mandatory in the capital. Violation of this will attract a fine of Rs 500.
