Candidates will be able to spend only up to 40 lakhs
The limit of campaign expenditure has been increased in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The Election Commission announced this in a press conference today regarding the assembly elections to be held in five states of the country. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra announced that this time candidates of political parties will be able to spend up to Rs 40 lakh in the UP Assembly elections. The CEC also told about the precautions to be taken regarding Corona during the election. He told that a total of 18.34 crore voters will exercise their franchise in the five states this time in the assembly elections. Elections will be held for a total of 690 seats, including 403 assembly seats in UP. In these elections, 24.9 lakh voters will vote for the first time.
Taking strict action regarding the Corona guidelines, the gatherings have been banned. In the election to be held in 7 phases, the first phase will be on February 10, the second phase on February 14, the third phase on February 20, the fourth phase on February 23, the fifth phase on February 27, the sixth phase of polling on March 3 and the last and seventh phases on March 7. The results will be released on March 10.
Rally will be banned till January 15
There will be no physical rally due to Kovid protocol, padyatra has been banned. There will be no big rally till January 15. There will be no street gatherings. The election campaign will be done only through virtual rallies. Only 5 people will be allowed for door-to-door contact.
