Indore: A bird flu virus was confirmed in the recently found crows in a green area of ​​Indore. Due to this, the vigilant administration has started a campaign to detect patients with symptoms of cold, cough, and fever.

Purnima Gadaria, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) in charge told, “Around 50 crows were found dead on Tuesday in the premises of the Daily College, a school in the Residency area. The veterinary department took samples of these crows during the autopsy and got them tested in a lab in Bhopal, they confirmed the bird flu spread virus H5N8. ”

He said that the survey has been started to find patients with symptoms of cold, cough and fever within a radius of five kilometers of the residency area. Samples of these patients will be taken and sent to check for bird flu.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director of the Veterinary Department Pramod Sharma said, “Around 20 crows were found dead in the Daily College campus on Friday. All the crows found dead have been buried by safe scientific method. ”

Sharma said that thousands of crows are inhabiting the greenery-filled residency area. The campaign to find dead crows in the region will continue for the next few days.

Significantly, the residency area is included in the posh areas of the city. The area also has bungalows of judges along with top officials of police and administration.
