Lucknow: The Yogi government has banned the strike in UP for six months. Additional Chief Secretary Personnel Dr. Devesh Kumar Chaturvedi has issued a notification in this regard. It states that the strike is being banned in any public service, corporations, and local authorities in connection with the state affairs of Uttar Pradesh. Even after this, action will be taken against those who strike under the legal system. Let us tell you that in May this year, the UP government had banned the strike for six months. During that time the Corona crisis was going on.

In view of the problems of Covid, CM Yogi had banned the strike by implementing the AIIMSA Act. After this decision of the Yogi government, the strike from time to time by the employees working in all government departments including public services, authority, corporations were banned. The ESMA Act, implemented by the UP government under the Act 1966, is implemented after getting approval from the governor. The AIIMS Act is made for the protestors and the strikers.

After its implementation, demonstrations or strikes are completely banned anywhere in the state. This act was implemented by the UP government last year, which was extended for six months in November last year itself. Even after the imposition of the ESMA Act, if an employee is found to be on strike or protesting, then legal action is taken by arresting the strikers without a warrant on behalf of the government for violating the act.
