Gold, silver, copper, brass, zinc, as well as gemstones, have been placed in the Rakhi of Ashta metal of Lord Surya Narayan. Zari has been used on Rakhi for the rays of Lord Sun. Pundarik Palrecha said that one member of the family has given more than 3-3 hours to prepare rakhi. In two months, 10 to 12 family members have worked hard and shaped this Rakhi. His family has been making rakhi for the Khajrana Ganesh temple on Rakshabandhan for 18 years.
