Ajit Pawar Corona positive, admitted to a hospital in Mumbai

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday tested positive for COVID-19. His office said Pawar has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital for treatment. “Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been admitted to a Mumbai hospital,” the deputy CM’s office said in a statement.

The Nationalist Congress Party leader said, “I have been infected with the corona virus. As a precaution, I have been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on the advice of doctors. ” He also said that party workers and citizens need not be worried about his health and he would return to the people after resting for a while.

Pawar was not confirmed to be infected on Thursday, but he had moved into a precautionary home. In the last few months, more than a dozen ministers of Maharashtra have been suffering from contagious diseases. At the same time, many leaders of the state have also fallen victim to the corona virus.

Maharashtra is the most affected state of COVID-19 in the country with a total of 1,41,001 active cases. While 14,60,755 patients have recovered from the disease in the state, 43,264 people have died so far.
