64 school students corona positive in Odishas Raigad district

Bhubaneswar: 64 students living in two hostels in the Raigad district of Odisha have been found infected with the coronavirus. However, no one has shown symptoms of Covid. Officials gave this information. Meanwhile, 71 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the state on Sunday.

Officials said that the total number of people found infected with the coronavirus in the state has gone up to 12,88,202. No new cases of death due to infection were reported, so the total number of deaths is still 9,126. He said that the number of patients under treatment in the state is 160 while 12,78,863 people have recovered from the infection.

Hostel officer Namita Samal said that 40 students of Anvesha Hostel in Kotlaguda have been found to be suffering from Covid-19. He said, “None of them have any symptoms of infection and have been kept in isolation. The authorities are taking all precautionary measures to contain the spread of the virus.” Students from eight English medium schools in the district reside in this hostel. 20 students of Hatamuniguda Government High School in Bisamtak Block were also found to be Kovid positive. They live in the school dormitory.

District Collector Saroj Kumar Mishra confirmed that 64 cases have been reported from the two hostels. He said, “During testing, samples of 64 students were found positive, but they did not show any symptoms. The health condition of all the students is stable, and they are under observation.”
