
Jabalpur: The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the appointment of six judicial officers as judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. On the recommendation of the collegium, orders have been issued by the President to make 6 judicial officers High Court judges.
Significantly, there are 53 posts of judges in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. At present, the strength of judges in the Madhya Pradesh High Court is 23. Out of which four judges are due to retire this year. The Supreme Court Collegium had earlier recommended the appointment of Advocate Pranay Verma, Advocate Vivek Sharan, and Advocate Nidhi Patankar Kar as judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. on which decision is pending.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended to the President on May 4 the appointment of Senior District and Sessions Judges Anil Verma, Arun Kumar Sharma, Satyendra Kumar Singh, Sunita Yadav, Deepak Kumar Agarwal, and Rajendra Kumar Verma as judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. After the appointment of 6 judges, the number of judges in the Madhya Pradesh High Court has increased to 29. Even after this, 24 posts of judges are vacant in the state high court.
