Bhopal: Due to heavy rains, 454 areas of 12 districts of Madhya Pradesh have been affected by the floods. 170 relief camps have been set up, carrying 9300 people. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that saving the people trapped in the flood is the first priority of the government. A survey of the damage will take place after the floodwaters recede. The state government will deal with both floods and corona.

Shivraj also informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about the situation. The Chief Minister said that 81 people have been evacuated from flood affected areas from Chhindwara, Balaghat, Somalwara of Sehore and Raisen district with the help of Air Force helicopter.

Four army companies are engaged in rescue operations in flood affected areas in Sehore and Raisen districts. The help of three Air Force helicopters has been taken. Two more helicopters have been sought from the Air Force. Four teams of NDRF are active in the affected areas. Four more parties have been demanded. The system is now geared towards West Madhya Pradesh on the second day on Sunday and also conducted an aerial survey of the flood affected areas.

Earlier in the discussion with journalists, he said that I am monitoring the situation by creating a control room in the Chief Minister’s residence. The rain has stopped, but the monsoon system is active. For two days, the rains in Hoshangabad, Raisen and Sehore districts caused much havoc. Now the system has moved towards West Madhya Pradesh, for which the officials of the districts of Dewas, Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Mandsaur, Neemuch etc. have been alerted.

Chauhan said that in view of the devastation caused by the delay in opening the gates of Gandhi Sagar Dam last time, this time the gates were opened with remaining two meters of water. Rain broke records CM Shivraj said that the rains have broken all records this time. In Hoshangabad, the Narmada River crossed the danger mark and reached 982 feet. The gates of Bargi, Barna, Indira Sagar, Tawa, Omkareshwar dams were opened after the Narmada and its tributaries, including Tawa, Pench river overflow.
