Ujjain: To enhance transparency, streamline the process, and provide devotees with a smoother experience, the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain has implemented a new Bhasma Aarti booking system. Under the guidance of Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh, this system ensures that devotees can plan their Bhasma Aarti well in advance.

Key Features of the New System:

  1. First Come, First Serve Basis:
  • The new system operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. Devotees can now secure their Bhasma Aarti slots without any hassle.
  • Requests for Bhasma Aarti from July 1 to July 31 have already been approved for 9,153 devotees through the temple’s website.
  • Additionally, bookings for the months of August, September, and October remain open.
  1. Advance Booking:
  • Devotees can plan ahead by booking their Bhasma Aarti for the next month.
  • Bookings for the upcoming month are released on the first day of each month. For instance, bookings for July were made available on June 1.
  1. Mobile Alerts and Pass Generation:
  • Devotees receive information about their Bhasma Aarti booking via the mobile number provided during registration.
  • After approval, devotees must deposit the prescribed fee within 24 hours and generate their pass.
  • Failure to generate the pass within the stipulated time will result in cancellation, and the slot will be allocated based on the waiting list.
  1. Equal Opportunity for All:
  • The new system ensures complete transparency.
  • Requests are closely monitored, and Aadhaar numbers and mobile numbers are verified to prevent misuse.
  • This step was taken in response to past complaints of unauthorized payments for Bhasma Aarti.
  1. Old System Phased Out:
  • The previous system, where Bhasma Aarti was booked 15 days in advance, will be completely closed by June 15.
  • Previously, slots would fill up within minutes of the portal opening, causing inconvenience to devotees.

  1. Information Boards for Devotee Convenience:
  • The Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee has installed information boards within the temple premises.
  • These boards guide devotees on Bhasma Aarti, temple entry, and donations.
  • Devotees are advised to pay the fixed fee for quick darshan or Bhasma Aarti only at the designated counters.
  • If anyone solicits money, devotees can contact the number displayed on the information board to report the incident.

With this new system, devotees can now participate in the sacred Bhasma Aarti with ease, knowing that transparency and fairness are at the heart of the process.
