New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the Southwest Monsoon (Monsoon) is normal in North and South India, above normal in Central India, and below normal in East and Northeast India. Is estimated Releasing his long-term forecast for Southwest Monsoon 2021, IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the country is forecast to have a normal monsoon this year.
Mohapatra said its normal long period average (LPA) is likely to be 96 to 104 percent. “Southwest Mansunu (June – September) rainfall is likely to be 96 to 104 percent of the normal long-term average (LPA),” he said.
He said, “Quantitatively, the monsoon rainfall in the country is likely to be 101 percent of the LPA. The LPA of the monsoon rains for the year 1961-2010 was 88 cm.
