
New Delhi: To further accelerate the vaccination campaign started in the country, the Central Government has given its approval to the vaccine manufactured by American company Moderna. In the press conference organized by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday, Dr. VK Paul, Health Secretary in NITI Aayog gave this information. Also, a decision on Pfizer’s vaccine will be taken soon. Moderna is the second vaccine after Sputnik to be approved in India.
Dr. Paul said, “Moderna, the first vaccine developed internationally, has been approved for the new drug. This new drug permission is for restricted use. He said, “Now there are four vaccines Covaxin, Covishield, Sputnik, and Modern. We will soon take a decision on Pfizer as well.”
Safe for women
Elaborating on the rumors that women taking the vaccine can cause infertility, Paul said, “These four vaccines (Covaxin, Covishield, Sputnik-v, and Moderna) are safe for lactating mothers. The vaccine has nothing to do with infertility.”

Possible to keep it at 2-8 degrees
On the approval of Moderna’s vaccine, the NITI Aayog member said, “Getting the license is the first important step, the next step will be taken by the company. After that this vaccine can be imported. This vaccine is good for 7 months at -20 degree temperature and can last for a month at 2-8 degree temperature.
Cipla will import
According to the approval received from the sources, DGCI has given approval to Indian company Cipla to import Moderna Vaccine. After which, soon after Sputnik, Moderna Vaccine will be implemented in India. According to sources, Cipla will start importing the vaccine from this July or August.
