
Kasaragod, Kerala: In a tragic turn of events, a late-night fireworks display in Neeleshwaram, Kasaragod district, Kerala, ended in disaster, leaving more than 150 people injured, with eight individuals fighting for their lives. The incident occurred around midnight on Monday, during a local celebration where crowds had gathered to watch the highly anticipated fireworks show.
According to police reports, the explosion was sudden and powerful, causing a wave of panic and chaos among spectators. Many people sustained injuries from flying debris and shrapnel, as well as burns from the powerful fireworks. Emergency responders and locals acted swiftly to transport the injured to nearby hospitals, where they are now receiving medical care. Authorities confirmed that of the 150 injured, eight remain in critical condition and are under intensive care.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a malfunction in the fireworks setup could have led to the blast, though an official inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact cause.
