New Delhi: Microsoft has informed in a blog post that the company will no longer release any major software updates for Windows 10. Somebody is going to stop this service now. The company said that Windows 10 22H2 will be the final version of the operating system. Along with this, the company said that all versions of Windows 10 will continue to receive monthly security updates for a few more years. However, this too will close on 14 October 2025.
The company said in a blog post that support for Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025. Whereas the current 22H2 will be the final version of Windows 10 and all editions will continue to receive monthly security updates. But only till the specified date.
Along with this, now the company is wanting that the users should be updated to Windows 11. Because, now there will be no feature updates in Windows 10. It is worth noting that Windows 11 has been in the market for more than one and a half years.
If you are an original user of Windows 10, then you can upgrade to Windows 11 for free. But, if you are using Windows 7 or earlier version then you may have to buy Windows 11. At the same time, users taking laptops from companies like HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, and Samsung will get Windows 11 free.
TPM 2.0 is required for Windows 11 compatibility. Which is a security standard and it is necessary to be enabled in the CPU. Some older CPUs support it. However, it is turned off by default. Brands like Asus and Acer have recently started releasing BIOS updates to enable TPM 2.0 on eligible CPUs. In such a situation, if your CPU is not very old then it will support Windows 11.
At the same time, users who have a PC with Windows 10 version. They can go directly to the Settings section to check whether their device has received the latest version or not. Keep in mind that if the update has not come to your PC or laptop, then it is not compatible with Windows 11. In such a situation, you will have to buy a new laptop to use the latest version.
