Sierra Leone: A major accident has happened in the African country of Sierra Leone. There was a huge explosion in the oil tanker here. Due to which at least 91 people have died (Blast in Africa). While a large number of people have been injured. This incident has happened in the country’s capital Freetown. The incident took place when a 40 feet tall oil tanker collided with another vehicle. After this, there was a huge explosion in it. Which caused havoc in the whole area. A video of the incident has also been released by the local media, in which bodies of people are seen scattered around the tanker.

Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyer called the incident “horrifying” after viewing the video footage. He also said that it is difficult to tell how much damage has been done. In a Facebook post, the mayor said there was a rumor that more than 100 people had lost their lives. However, the official death toll has not been revealed yet. At the same time, firefighters reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. Relief and rescue work has started. The injured people are being taken to the hospital.

Mohamed Lamarane Bah, communications director of Sierra Leone’s National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), said several people were also injured in the blast, some of them in critical condition. Bah said officials have taken the injured people to hospital. Looking at the seriously injured, it can be said that the death toll may increase. Rescue work has ended at the spot. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
