Prayagraj: Prayagraj witnessed an awe-inspiring start to the Maha Kumbh 2025 as millions of devotees gathered to take a holy dip on Paush Purnima, marking the first royal bath of the grand event. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his heartfelt congratulations on the occasion. Sharing a post on Instagram, he wrote, “Congratulations on Paush Purnima! Attendees have praised the meticulous arrangements for food, accommodation, and hygiene. A devotee from Brazil, Francisco, described his experience: “I do yoga and seek salvation. India is the spiritual heart of the world. The water is cold, but the warmth in people’s hearts makes up for it.”
Local devotees expressed similar sentiments, appreciating the Yogi government’s efforts in ensuring smooth logistics, well-paved roads, and ample facilities.
Historic Arrival of Akharas and Rare Astronomical Phenomenon
A significant highlight of Maha Kumbh 2025 is the presence of all 13 Akharas, who completed their cantonment entry on Sunday. Shri Panchayati Akhara Bada Udasin was the last to join. The first Amrit Snan by these revered Akharas is scheduled for January 14 on Makar Sankranti.
