New Delhi: According to other big news of the morning, Germany’s Lufthansa Airlines has canceled 800 flights flying there today. Around 130,000 passengers will be affected by this incident. Actually, pilots in Germany have announced a one-day strike. After which these flights had to be canceled.

Giving details on Thursday, the airline said that it is canceling almost all passenger and cargo flights from its two biggest hubs Frankfurt and Munich today, ie Friday, due to the strike. Lufthansa also said that around 800 flights would be canceled today, Friday, affecting many passengers returning at the end of the summer vacation. However, the airline’s budget carrier Eurowings will not be affected.

Notably, Lufthansa said the company had also offered a one-time increase of 900 euros (US$900), a 5% increase for senior pilots, and an 18% increase for those starting the profession.

This is the demand of pilots
The union had called for an increase of 5.5 percent this year and an automatic union called for a growth of 5.5 percent this year and an automatic inflation hike in 2023.

But in addition, pilots are also demanding a new pay and leave structure, which the airline has said will increase its staffing costs by about 40%, or about 900 million euros, over two years. But at present, 800 flights flying have been canceled due to the announcement of a one-day strike by the pilots.
