Since the removal of Article 370 and Article 35A from Jammu and Kashmir, the effort of the central government has been that the Hindus who were expelled from Kashmir should return to the valley. It sounds good to say, but what is the guarantee of the safety of these pundits and their families? Terrorists are going on target killing. Terrorists attacked two Kashmiri Pandit brothers in the Shopian district. One of them Sunil Kumar died and the other Pintu Kumar is injured.
They had received murder threats earlier also but they were not provided security even after complaining. How many Kashmiri Hindus were killed by terrorists this year? A Sikh female teacher was shot after entering the school. Kashmiri Pandits, employees, and people who have gone from other states have come and demonstrated in Jammu but the government is not able to provide them security. Kashmiri Pandit families housed in the gated colony have security there but when they go to work or the market, there is no security on the way or at the workplace.
They have to carry their life in their palm. Until these workers return home from their office or their children from school, the family is worried. The informers of the terrorists do reconnaissance of the way of movement of the Pandits and as soon as they get the opportunity, the terrorists kill their target. In such an extremely unsafe situation, the Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti (KPSS) has appealed to the people of the community to leave the Valley.
KPSS chief Sanjay Tikku said that through another attack, the terrorists have made it clear that they will kill all the Pandits in the Kashmir Valley. The only option left for Kashmiri Pandits is to leave Kashmir or be killed by religious fanatics. They should move to a safer place like Jammu or Delhi. The government has failed to provide security to the minorities, especially the Kashmiri Pandits. On requesting the administration to send them to a safe place, they were told that they have to stay in their villages. No protection is given even when there is a threat of attack.
