Srinagar: In a concerning surge of violence, Jammu & Kashmir has been hit by a series of terrorist attacks, marking a period of heightened tension and vigilance. The latest incident occurred on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, when terrorists targeted the Army’s Temporary Operating Base (TOB) in the Doda district. The attack resulted in the death of one terrorist and the injury of a civilian.

The encounter unfolded in the Chattargalla area of Doda, prompting an ongoing search operation. This marks the third such attack in the valley over a span of just three days, following previous strikes in Reasi and Kathua. In response to the Kathua attack, the army has deployed drones to aid in the search for the perpetrators.

Media reports indicate that two separate encounters between terrorists and security forces have taken place in the Jammu division since Tuesday night. One was in the Hiranagar Sawal area of Samba district, resulting in the elimination of a terrorist, while the other is currently active in the Chhatrakala area of Doda.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh reported that terrorists had fired upon a residence in Saida Sukhal village of Kathua, situated in the Hiranagar sector. The ADGP of Jammu took to social media to announce that a joint checkpoint of the army and police has encircled a terrorist in the Chattargalla area, with an exchange of fire underway.
