New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is now starting another new service to make your journey more enjoyable. Now IRCTC will also start cruise liner service. The company is starting this service in association with a private company Cordelia Cruises. India’s first indigenous luxury cruise liner will leave for its journey on 18 September. This cruise will go from Mumbai to Goa.
IRCTC has joined hands with Cordelia Cruises operated by M/s Waterways Leisure Tourism Pvt Ltd to promote and market the first indigenous luxury cruise in India, an IRCTC official said. This is yet another incredible luxury travel offering to the public under IRCTC’s tourism services.
The cruise liner has the capacity to carry about 2,000 passengers
He said, about 150 calls have been received for the cruise liner. People are asking for information about different routes. Most of the inquiries are being done by the people of Mumbai. He told that the second cruise from Mumbai will leave for Goa on 25 September. Most inquiries are being done about this.
The cruise liner has a capacity to carry around 2,000 passengers. IRCTC said that the guests on board the ship will have the experience of sailing to some of the best Indian and international destinations like Goa, Diu, Lakshadweep, Kochi, and Sri Lanka.
The number of guests on the cruise will also be limited
According to IRCTC, all the crew members have been fully vaccinated as per the Kovid-19 protocol. Everyone has been asked to ensure adherence to the norms of Kovid-19 set by the government. According to the official order by the government, the number of guests on the cruise will also be limited.
Chennai will be the destination after Mumbai
IRCTC informed that from May 2022, the cruise will be shifted to Chennai. After this, the capital of Sri Lanka will be sent to destinations like Colombo, Galle, Trincomalee, and Jaffna.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities
The cruise features a swimming pool, bar, gym, open cinema, theater, and restaurant. A separate space has been made for the children to play. According to IRCTC, following all the Kovid-19 guidelines, a special team has also been formed. This team will take care of the safety and health of the passengers. There is also a medical center equipped with all necessary medical items on the cruise.
