Dubai: The Houthi rebels of Yamen claimed that they attacked the oil reserves in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday with a new cruise missile. Hours before the incident, an online conference of a group of 20 leaders was hosted by Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has not immediately commented on the attack. However, in the video available on social media, the fire in Aramco’s oil reserves can be seen. A spokesman for the Houthi army, Brigadier General Yehiya Sari, tweeted that new Quad 2 cruise missiles had been fired at the oil depot.

The general also posted a satellite image resembling Aramco’s North Jeddah bulk plant where oil products are stored in tanks. The store is located southeast of Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport. Saudi state media have not yet confirmed the Houthi rebels’ claim.
