Kabul: After the occupation of Afghanistan, the Taliban has announced a new government. According to sources, the head of the Taliban, Mullah Baradar, will be the head of the new government. While the Taliban’s biggest religious leader, Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada, will be made the supreme leader of Afghanistan.
According to the news of Al-Arabiya News, Mullah Mohammad Yacoub, sons of late Taliban founder Mullah Omar, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai will also hold senior positions in the government.
Mullah Baradar to command new Afghan government: Taliban sources
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is one of the four people who formed the Taliban in 1994. In the year 2001, when the forces started operations in Afghanistan under the American leadership, there were reports of rebellion under the leadership of Mullah Baradar. American forces started looking for him in Afghanistan, but he had fled to Pakistan.
In 2010, Baradar was arrested by the ISI from Karachi. He was released in 2018 at the request of the US. Currently, Baradar is the Taliban’s political head and the group’s public face. Baradar fought in the Afghan Mujahideen against Soviet forces in the 1980s. After Russia’s exit in 1992, civil war broke out between rival warlords. At that time Baradar had established a madrassa in Kandahar along with his former commander and relative, Mohammad Umar.
When the Taliban was formed in Afghanistan in the 90s. Then its chief was Mullah Mohammad Umar. It is said that Baradar’s sister Mulla was Omar’s wife. He was the second major leader in the infamous Taliban rule of the 90s. Baradar is considered the chief responsible for the victories over the districts and provincial capitals.
Many top leaders of the Taliban do not even see Akhundzada
