Vondrousova claims Grand Slam title with straight sets win over Tunisian star

London: Marketa Vondrousova created history by winning her maiden Grand Slam title. He won the Wimbledon SW19 final on Saturday over Ons Jabeur. Marketa defeated the Tunisian player 6-4, 6-4. With this, she became the first unseeded player to win the coveted crown at the Czech All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

The 24-year-old Vondrousova from the Czech Republic defeated last year’s runner-up and sixth seed Jabeur 6-4, 6-4 to claim her maiden Grand Slam title. Vondrousova, a left-hander, has a world ranking of 42 and became the first player in 60 years to play in the final at Wimbledon.
