Caracas: Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro said on Friday that authorities have arrested an American spy targeting two refineries on the North Caribbean coast. Once upon a time Venezuela was an oil-rich country but is currently facing a shortage of fuel. Maduro alleged that the spy is naval and has worked for the CIA in Iraq. Maduro, however, did not present the detective’s introduction or other evidence in favor of his claim. He said that information related to it, such as photos and videos, will come. Maduro said the suspect was apprehended on Thursday.

He had special weapons and a considerable amount of dollars. He said that the person is being questioned regarding the presence around Emu and Cardan refineries in Falcon State. Maduro said Venezuelan officials thwarted a conspiracy against another refinery on Wednesday. He said that a conspiracy was hatched to blow up the El Palito refinery in Carabobo state. He has asked the oil personnel to be alert for more attacks. Oil had once made Venezuela a prosperous country, but Maduro’s critics say that two decades of socialist rule put Venezuela on the brink of catastrophe.
