Washington: Federal prosecutors in the US on Friday said charges of conspiring to commit Visa fraud and fraudulent use of H-1B visas (H-1Bs) to attract foreign nationals to the United States. An Indian citizen has been arrested.
Prosecutors said Indian national Ashish Sahni (48) was arrested on Thursday. Sahni allegedly used four corporations to submit fake applications for the purpose of obtaining H1B specialization-business work visas. He said that six charges have been made against Sahni.
Prosecutors allege that Sahni allegedly collected nearly $ 20 million from 2011 to 2016. If Sahni is convicted in these cases, he can be sentenced to a maximum of ten years of imprisonment.
