Beijing: China on Wednesday targeted US President Donald Trump for harsh remarks against Beijing at the UN General Assembly session, saying his allegations were indirectly “motivated by political motives” and ” with fabricated lies. Trump said on Tuesday that the United Nations should hold China responsible for failing to control the “Chinese virus” epidemic that has killed nearly a million people worldwide, including two million US citizens. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wengbin criticized Trump’s remarks, saying that the US leader’s remarks about China in the UN General Assembly session were “beyond facts and concocted.”

Wang said, “Indirectly motivated by political motives, President Trump used the United Nations platform to make unfounded allegations against China. China strongly opposes these allegations. Such acts have again shown that unilateralism and bullying are the biggest threats to the world. ” He said, “Lies cannot be presented as truth in any way. The world is fully aware of China’s record in Kovid-19. ” He said that this virus is a common enemy of the entire human race. He said, “China is a victim of the virus and the country has contributed to the global fight against the virus.” Trump demanded that China should be held responsible for failing to control the virus from where the corona virus has emerged.

Wang denied the accusations of delaying action against China after the virus first surfaced in Wuhan in December last year, stating that China gave information about the epidemic, identified the virus and Information about it was shared with the world as soon as possible. He said, “When the transition from human to human was confirmed, China immediately decided to stop all exit from Wuhan.” He said that on 31 January, the US suspended a direct flight from China. When the US closed its borders for all Chinese citizens on February 2, there were only two dozen cases in the US. Wang also defended the World Health Organization (WHO), which Trump alleged is virtually controlled by China.
