Arson balloons

Jerusalem: Israeli aircraft carried out attacks on militants’ sites in the Gaza Strip early on Wednesday. It is the first such attack since the ceasefire that ended the war with Hamas last month. The Israeli army said it targeted centers that Hamas used to hold meetings to plan militant attacks. It is being told that extremist groups in Gaza responded by releasing balloons. Their action led to fires in at least 10 places in southern Israel. However, this is not the first case that Palestinians have attacked Israel with arson balloons to attack. It is said that now the same technique is being used by the Palestinians to raid Israel.

Using arson balloons
In early May 2018, helium-filled incendiary balloons were used with kites in Gaza. Prior to a similar technique, during World War II Japan had fired nearly hundreds of fu-go balloon bombs into North America. The balloons were then used through a barometric sensor. After this, America also prepared balloon bombs like Japan’s Fu Go Balloon Bomb which was used during the Cold War.

How is it used
An arson balloon or balloon bomb is filled with light gas or hydrogen or helium from the air. After this, bombs or incendiary substances or devices are planted in the balloons. After the balloon is ready, the wind direction is checked and then they are released at the target site. Where these balloons fall, there is a slight explosion followed by a fire. According to a report, since the year 2018, Palestinians belonging to extremist groups in the Gaza Strip have been dodging Israel by flying thousands of balloons in the air.

Israel launches air strikes on Gaza Strip in retaliation
On Tuesday, fires broke out in several places in southern Israel near the Gaza Strip, which the fire department had to work hard to extinguish. It is being said that extremist groups from Gaza carried out the incident of setting fire with the help of balloons. After this Israel launched air strikes on the Gaza Strip in retaliation. So far, no information has been received about any casualties in these attacks.
