Kabul: Several rocket attacks have been carried out targeting Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. According to Afghan media, these rockets were fired near Khurshid Private University. A preliminary investigation revealed that these rockets were fired to destroy the air defense system of Kabul airport. There is no news of any casualties yet.

According to sources, the air defense system installed at Kabul airport thwarted the rocket attack and shot it down in the air. America has put in place a state-of-the-art defense system for the security of this airport. The latest rocket attack has been done near the Lab Jar Khairkhana intersection. The terrorists have carried out this attack at a time when the US had targeted the car of ISIS terrorists by a drone attack a day earlier.

These terrorists were suicide bombers who wanted to target Kabul airport. Apart from many terrorists, 9 civilians were also killed in this attack. Six children of the same family were also among those killed. Earlier, a US drone strike in Kabul targeted a vehicle carrying several suicide bombers of an Islamic State affiliate. Officials said the suicide bombers wanted to target a US military evacuation operation at Kabul International Airport.

US military cargo planes continued to take off from the airport on Sunday, ahead of a Tuesday deadline set by US President Joe Biden to withdraw all troops from America’s longest war. However, Afghan civilians left in the country are concerned about the Taliban returning to their previously repressive regime. This fear has recently been strengthened after the insurgents shot dead a folk singer in the country.
