Kyiv: Indian students studying there are in a dilemma amidst the war of words from Russia in Ukraine. The Indian Embassy in Kyiv issued an advisory on Tuesday morning suggesting Indian students leave the country temporarily. It was said in the advisory that students who are not required to live in Ukraine, should consider leaving Ukraine in the midst of these circumstances. More than 20,000 Indian students and citizens live in different parts of Ukraine, including the border areas.

Raghib Rahman, an Indian student studying MBBS at Odessa University, told News18 that about 500 Indian students study in his university, and all the students have made up their minds to leave the country after the advisory from the Indian embassy. But returning to the country is not easy for these students. Although there is no crisis on flights in Ukraine right now, in the last two days, flight tickets are being sold at double the price.

Raghib Rahman said that the flight to India which was being available for $ 360 i.e. about 27 thousand two days ago, is now getting 52 thousand, and some flights are getting around Rs. Rahman said that even at the time of the lockdown, the Indian embassy had safely evacuated the Indian students trapped in Ukraine, so the embassy should take steps to help the Indian students.

The Indian Embassy had issued a registration form on 25 January asking for the information of Indian citizens to be given by 31 January.
