Singapore: Last year 30 percent of deaths due to corona had been fully vaccinated

Singapore: Singapore Health Minister Ong Ye Kung told parliament on Monday that 30 percent of the total deaths due to Covid last year were people who had been fully vaccinated.

The minister said that 802 people have died in Singapore last year due to coronavirus, out of which 247 people were fully vaccinated. According to data provided by Kung Kee, those who were fully vaccinated who died due to complications related to COVID-19 had received the “non-mRNA” vaccine.

According to the rate quoted by the minister, there have been 11 deaths per lakh in those who got the Sinovac vaccine, 7.8 per lakh in those who got the Sinoform vaccine, and per one lakh for those who got the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. 6.2 out of them and one in every 100,000 who got the Moderna vaccine.

According to the news of Channel News Asia, Kung told Parliament, “Keep in mind that we are calculating this on the basis of a small sample of 247 deaths. These rates are only indicative as they do not account for other factors that may affect mortality such as age and timing of vaccination.” Last year, the remaining 555 people who lost their lives due to Covid were not fully vaccinated. The minister said that there are few people in Singapore who have not been vaccinated.
