Singapore government stops foreign workers from working

Singapore: In Singapore, 13,000 foreign workers are prevented from coming back to work. The reason for this is said to miss the deadline of Covid-19 Test. The number of Indians in these 13,000 employees is very large. Singapore officials said on Tuesday that about 13,000 foreign workers were not allowed to come to work in Singapore because they did not get the government-mandated Covid-19 tested within the deadline.

Access code for foreign employees will remain red for now: Health Ministry
The Health Ministry said in a statement that the access code status for these 13,000 foreign employees will remain ‘red’ and they cannot return to work. The statement also said that this step has been taken keeping in mind the health and safety of other employees. These employees had missed the Rostered Routine Testing on 5 September.

After getting the test, you will be able to come to work
When these workers get their tests done, their access code will be restored to “green” and they will be allowed to return to work and they will be allowed to return to work. To ensure that the work is resumed safely, one of the safety measures being taken by the government is that all employees living in the dormitory have to undergo regular testing in 14 days. Most of the employees living in these dormitories are Indians.

Government institutions are also compelled
Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower, Economic Development Board, Building and Construction Authority, and Health Promotion Board have been explaining to employers since August and asking them to remind their employees to get RRT tests done before the September 5 deadline.

Meanwhile, 47 new coronavirus cases were registered in Singapore on Tuesday, taking the total number of corona cases in the country to 57,091. A case was also registered as an imported case, which has been reported to stay at home in Singapore. The rest are more cases of migrant workers here.
